Neon lit dreams
The monsoon evening,
when
the city
dodged slanting silver ropes
and we watched.
The taxi ride,
when
eyes met,
but lips didn’t
Cheap radio songs
punctuated
lingering solitude.
Flesh
promised desire
Lost in her smells
last night’s perfume.
Ruffled sheets
and longing embrace,
musty morning sunshine
Again !
Another evening,
terminals and departures
she smiled.
Below
Below
the city glowed
like a firefly
I wrote no goodbyes
Just ecstasy
